Homemade Nutella

Homemade Nutella

I can easily say that I changed my eating habits because of Nutella. One day I was googling how to make homemade Nutella and I found lots of food bloggers who were writing about healthy recipes, healthy lifestyle and the way of introducing more vegetables into your diet. That’s when I decided to change and start making healthier meals because my health is the most important thing to me.
About a year and a half after that, I created this blog in order to share all the recipes I’ve gathered and invented that I think could be useful to all of you.
So, let me get back to Nutella. You all know its perfect taste of toasted hazelnuts and cocoa. Well I have to explain something. I was born in Serbia, and while I was growing up there was a pretty bad situation in my country so we haven’t been able to enjoy lots of stuff most people have. So we had some other hazelnut spread which we called Eurokrem. I loved it very much when I was a child. Nutella only came letter but was very expensive so it became something unreachable and valuable you could only enjoy on special occasions.

That feeling has been following me all my life even though, as an adult, I could buy Nutella whenever I wanted.  I guess it’ll always stay that unreachable perfection, something with a special value to me. Considering the fact that chances to give up on Nutella very pretty lousy, I had to find a healthy option in order to enjoy it guilt-free. That’s when a miracle happened. After I made my first hazelnut cocoa spread and compared it to Nutella, I was amazed how great it tasted and how better it was than the  actual Nutella. So when you compare the real thing with 100% hazelnuts to the artificial one, you’ll get what I’m talking about. Needless to say, I haven’t bought a jar of Nutella ever since and now it has no more value to me.
This recipe is very easy and quick to make and I’m sure you’ll love it.

Enjoy!

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups toasted hazelnuts
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • If you want it to be creamier, add some water. I added about 1/4 cup.

Directions:

  1. Put the hazelnuts into a food processor and then process them into a creamy nut butter.
  2. Add the coconut sugar, cocoa and coconut oil, and process again until well combined.
  3. Little by little, add water. Don/t be scared if the paste starts to look like a ball. Just be patient, add more water, keep processing until it becomes creamy.
  4. Store it in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a week.

Think you left some of the ingredients out in the actual instructions…. Assume Blend all into the hazelnut butter.

Thank you so much for the comment. Sure, you have to add all the ingredients and process everything into the hazelnut butter. I corrected it on the post. Thank you, I hope you like the recipe 🙂
